Themis Vagiakos brings a wealth of experience from corporate finance, management consulting, and digital strategy to the maritime sector. He launched his career as a Financial Controller at Allianz, later moving to Deloitte in both Greece and Germany to advise clients on M&A, value creation, and complex regulatory projects, with notable engagements in the maritime sector.
Following his MBA, Themis took on senior leadership roles at Wipro and Microsoft, directing major digital transformation and innovation programs across Europe, Asia, and the US. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, he also founded a Digital Innovation Hub in Greece dedicated to advancing the goals of the EU Green Deal.
His pivot to the maritime industry two years ago led him to American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), where he currently leads services encompassing Energy Transition/ Management, ESG Excellence, Sustainable Finance, and Performance Advisory. He also actively contributes to the development of ABS’s strategic services where green finance, regulation, and innovation converge.
Themis holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MSc in Finance from Warwick Business School, a BSc in Management Science and Technology from AUEB, while he is also CIMA-qualified.
