Fotis Tsakiridis is a graduate of the School of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Networks at the University of Thessaly. Since 2006, he has been a shareholder and the lead architect behind SMARTNAV’s telematics platform — one of the leading companies in the telematics sector.
He is the creator of SMARTNAV’s advanced telematics ecosystem, and the key technical visionary behind NOVA’s official telematics platform, NOVAFLEET, developed exclusively by SMARTNAV as NOVA’s sole strategic partner in this field.
He is also the architect of CANOPUS, SMARTNAV’s state-of-the-art route optimization service, delivering intelligent routing through advanced algorithms. CANOPUS is designed to redefine the way businesses manage vehicle fleets, offering real-time optimization and operational efficiency at scale.

Research Background
Tsakiridis has an important research footprint in the areas of mobility, wireless access, and data dissemination. He was a contributing researcher at the 5th ACM International Symposium on Mobility Management and Wireless Access, where he published the paper: “Interpolating the Air for Optimizing Wireless Data Broadcast”.
The paper introduced a pioneering optimization algorithm for wireless data broadcast, capable of reducing transmission time by half compared to previous approaches. This algorithm remains a global reference point in the field due to its innovation and performance.
His work was accepted by ACM, one of the most demanding and prestigious scientific organizations in computing, highlighting the rigor and international recognition of his contribution.
