Professor Kazancoglu holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University and an MBA from Coventry University,UK followed by a Ph.D. from Ege University. His primary research interests encompass supply chain management, sustainability, green logistics, and the circular economy. His research success is highlighted by being ranked as the top scholar in Turkey according to P-Rank for the last consecutive five-years periods based on several respected journal rankings.
Further distinguishing his achievements, he was ranked in the “World’s Top 2% Researchers/Scientists” list by Elsevier BV and Stanford University in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and was honored with the Outstanding Professor in Logistics award by IEOM (Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society International) in 2023.
He is the member of NWO – Dutch Research Council – Circular Economy Committee. He is a project reviewer for Austrian Science Fund (FWF), Poland National Science Center (NCN) and Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ).
Beyond these awards, he has served in significant leadership roles, including Director of a Continuing Education Center, Head of the Logistics Management Department and his current appointment as Vice Rector (Research and Innovation) of Yasar University.
